Small Summer Surf with a SSW Swell for 4th of July

There is hard south in the water currently that will grace beaches with southerly exposure with knee to chest high sets. Santa Cruz not getting much of this swell so far. Next SSW forecast to start late the 3rd of July with knee to Chest on Wednesday the 4th. Thursday is forecast to be waist to chest in Santa Cruz with some larger sets. Good SSW with hint of W direction on this swell; could be good at many spots along the north coast and southern regions.Small Pleasure Point

June 1999 – This was a tricky pool with a lot of vertical and not much transition.

Don’t go looking for this pool; it is no longer there as they bulldozed it not long after this photo. Then new buildings and a parking lots were built there. The good news it that the Incline Skate Park was built not far away from this location.

SSW Swells Continue

Long days of summer are upon us. You can surf in day light from 5am until 9pm and fortunately there is some small to medium scale SSW ground swells and WNW wind swells in the water to get that done. The Santa Cruz forecast calls for waist to chest high surf through Friday then waning slightly Saturday but a new pulse arrives Sunday keeping it fun size. San Francisco surfcast has more size with waist to head high surf  then waist to chest by the middle of next week.
