New SSW Swell This Week

Currently there is some inconsistant ankle to knee SW sets in Santa Cruz and knee to waist high swell mix in San Francisco.  A new SSW swell will grace Central California shores this week starting late Wednesday and up to waist to head high on Thursday. This new SSW swell holds pretty strong through the weekend with a little increase of wind swell from the WNW. Weather continues in summer pattern of am fog and onshore flow in the afternoon.

SW Ground Swell and NW Wind Swell Mix in the Surf Forecast

The current knee to chest high SW ground swell and NW wind swell mix will wane for the next few days, but will still provide fun knee to waist high sets in Santa cruz through Friday. SF may have some smooth mornings with knee to chest high through Friday as well. The weekend looks a bit smaller. The next SW picks up on Monday with knee to chest high surf again. Enjoy the warmer summer water and the long period SW swells.

Small Improvement in the Surf Forecast with S Swells

A small scale S has improved the surf in Santa Cruz to knee to waist with occasional chest high sets at the top spots. San Francisco has some WNW wind swell mixing in providing knee to shoulder high surf. These swells will hang in there the next few days, but fade a little through Saturday. Next S swell fills in on Sunday with knee to waist high waves and occasional chest high sets in Santa Cruz again. SF will also see this S swell and then a bit more WNW wind swell on Monday with waist to head high sets.
