NW and SW Swells in the Surf Forecast

Current NW swell will fade but not go away this week. Some SW energy will help keep it fun along many coastlines. Stronger NW swell will arrive Friday with double over-head waves at more exposed beaches then bigger Monday. Hard NW direction may not get into Santa Cruz that strong but with the SW in the water some energy will bend in.

Hefty WNW Swells in the Surf Forecast

Looks like Wednesday this week will have some strong WNW swell and stays strong the rest of the week. Even bigger on Saturday. There is also a nice SW swell starting Friday that will get into South facing beaches, so there will waves at most all surf breaks this week.

Sailboats and Sunset at the Santa Cruz Harbor

Sunday – O’Neill Cold Water Classic is on again at Waddell Creek.

Web-feed is sketchy due to low bandwidth connection up there.

3:45pm – It’s official – Miguel Pupo wins the CWC!

The young Brazilian dazzled the crowd in on-shore beach break conditions at Waddell Creek and takes home $40k for the win and another $50k for the Cold Water series win.

Surfing no cord and relaxed he pulled all kinds of flared out air reverses and other exceptional maneuvers.

Congratulations Miguel!

Saturday CWC Round 3 Heats are on at the Lane then Moves to Waddell

CWC at Waddell

O’Neill Cold Water Classic was on at the Lane until around 10am.  We had another over 6 foot high tide to deal with mid-day so they moved to Waddell Creek and waves have stayed rippable and glassy all day. 3:30pm – Currently moving back to the Lane with next call 4:30.

Last call was off for the day. Next call 7AM Sunday
