New Smyrna is perhaps the most consistent surf spot in Florida. There are lots of sharks in the waters around Florida, but this spot has an unfortunate history of lots of leg bites from small sharks. I have surfed there and did not think about it; that much. Inside the jetty can set up well when conditions are right but is very tide dependent in there. South of the jetty the bars often offer some fun waves from North and South, but favors more Southerly directions.
