Congratulations to Julian Wilson for winning the Rip Curl Pro Portugal!

Julian edged out Gabriel Medina for the win with a 1.1 point margin even though Gabriel pulled a very sick FS reverse as we would expect. Perhaps the judges are jaded from seeing so many of these moves by Gabriel. The judges were rewarding barrels more at this venue with the name of Super Tubes and Julian connected a little more tube time for the close win in the final. Good surfing by all went down.

Santa Cruz local Nat Young continues to impress in the Vans Triple Crown. With a 4th place finish in the Reef Hawaiian Pro, and looking very solid in the Vans World Cup at Sunset Beach. Results from his last heat round 2 heat 8. Lots of luck to Nat in round 3, and the rest of of the competitors. Maybe Nat can break the cycle of regular footers winning the Billabong Pipe Masters?

Surf for Wednesday is looking to be 4-6′ with Thursday and Friday looking to be the biggest at 10-15′ Hopefully they can manage to take advantage of Thursday and Fridays conditions.
