Swell already peaked Friday, but pulsing 5-8 foots sets still grace the shores of Santa Cruz and San Francisco. Current swell will fade some through the weekend, but inconsistant larger sets will show at top spots. A new SSW swell fills in late Monday into Tuesday, but not as strong as the current swell with 4-7 foot surf in Santa Cruz and a bit larger at exposed beaches as the NWW wind swell increases at the same time frame. A new combo of SSW ground swell and WNW wind swell is in the forecast for next weekend starting Friday.
The mix of small SW ground swells and WNW wind swells will continue. The next SW ground swell pulse starts to show late Monday at the same time as the WNW wind swell increases; combined providing knee to chest surf in Santa Cruz through Tuesday and 3-7 foot mixed up surf at exposed beaches like San Francisco. The remainder of the week will still have these swells hanging on with knee to waist high surf in Santa Cruz and 2-5 foot waves at exposed beaches.
Small knee to waist high surf in Santa Cruz will continue from a couple of S ground swells through the week. SF will be a bit bigger with mixed up NW wind swell mixing in. Next weekend improves when waist to head high surf is expected in Santa Cruz and over-head waves at more exposed beaches like San Francisco.
The mixed up spring conditions will continue for a couple of more days with waist to over-head storm surf in Santa Cruz and over-head storminess at more exposed beaches. Best bets will be to get some early! The trend goes smaller into the week with knee high surf in Santa Cruz and waist high waves at San Francisco beaches Wednesday through Friday. Surf picks up a bit next weekend, but looks to be small and wind swell again.
Santa Cruz will have small 1-2 foot surf and San Francisco will have 2-4 foot with lite onshore flow Sunday. Possible to see some new 1-3 foot SSW swell filling in late Sunday with just slight improvement in size with occasional long period chest high sets through Monday. The trend goes larger as new S ground swells and WNW wind swells fill in Tuesday, peaking Wednesday with head high surf in Santa Cruz and over-head waves at exposed beaches. These swells will hang around providing 2-5 foot surf through next weekend.
