Saturday may be another lay day for the Cold Water Classic ASP tour event due to small dropping swell. We can look forward to a W ground swell combining with some SW long period energy starting on Sunday to provide 3-6ft waves with occasional larger sets at the Lane for the CWC. San Francisco will enjoy 3-6ft surf on Saturday. All exposed beaches will see up to double over-head surf on Sunday and Monday. The trend goes a little smaller into mid-week but will still have some fun knee to chest high surf in Santa Cruz and larger at exposed beaches. Friday next week will see a WNW swell with waist to over-head surf in SC and chest to doulbe-over-head surf at spots that see more WNW swell.

Sunday – O’Neill Cold Water Classic is on again at Waddell Creek.

3:45pm – It’s official – Miguel Pupo wins the CWC!

The young Brazilian dazzled the crowd in on-shore beach break conditions at Waddell Creek and takes home $40k for the win and another $50k for the Cold Water series win.

Surfing no cord and relaxed he pulled all kinds of flared out air reverses and other exceptional maneuvers.

O’Neill Cold Water Classic was on at the Lane until around 10am.  We had another over 6 foot high tide to deal with mid-day so they moved to Waddell Creek and waves have stayed rippable and glassy all day. 3:30pm – Currently moving back to the Lane with next call 4:30.
