Heavenly Ski Resort has … well … Heavenly views of Lake Tahoe and lots of acres to ski and snowboard on. You can ski back and forth from Nevada and California. The Nevada side has the best terrain on powder days, but the front side in California can be steep and deep when it really dumps. The resort lacks a cozy beginner area at the bottom and getting around the mountain is easier for skiers than snowboarders because there are several long cat track traverses. When done for the day you can ride down the tram or gondola, attack the bumps on the face, or take the easier but still fun switch back road (not really for beginners, take the tram). Great location, great views, have a great time!
